Alpha Phi Omega-Hawaii sent dozens of "balik-bayan" boxes of textbooks to different public elementary schools in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, and Cagayan. The books are mostly in math, science, and reading -- the foundational subjects in early learning. The textbooks were acquired from the Hawai'i  State Department of Education (DOE) schools, while APO-Hawaii and individual members of the alumni association shouldered the shipments.
